HomeCalc.uk is a free online calculator service for UK homeowners. Our website address is: https://www.homecalc.uk
What Data We Collect
HomeCalc.uk does not require registration or login. We collect minimal data:
- Email addresses — only if you voluntarily submit them via our email capture form. We use these to send occasional home improvement guides. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Usage data — anonymous analytics via Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on site, device type). No personally identifiable information is collected.
- Advertising data — Google AdSense may use cookies to serve relevant advertisements. See Google's privacy policy for details.
- Contact emails — if you email us via our contact page, we store your email address and message content solely for the purpose of responding to your enquiry.
Data Retention
We retain different categories of data for different periods:
- Newsletter email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscription, your address is removed from our mailing list within 30 days.
- Contact enquiry emails — retained for up to 12 months after the conversation is resolved, then permanently deleted.
- Analytics data — Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months under our GA4 configuration. After this period, user-level and event-level data is automatically deleted by Google.
- Advertising cookies — managed by Google AdSense. Cookie lifespans vary by type; see Google's advertising privacy documentation for specific retention periods.
We do not retain any calculator input data. The values you enter into our calculators are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
